Cameroon Wins AFCON 2017

The indomitable lions of Cameroon have won the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon after coming from behind to defeat the pharaohs of Egypt.



Vincent Aboubakar’s 88th minute strike ensured the Cameroonians win the tournament for the fifth time.
Arsenal's Mohammed Elneny opened the scoring in the first half when he met Salah's pass and scored at the near post.

Boko Haram Allegedly Takes Over Community in Yobe

Suspected Boko Haram members have reportedly taken over Sasawa, a town in Yobe state after they were said to have battled with troops of the Nigerian Army late Sunday, February 5.

Though the Nigerian Army is yet to confirm the latest incident, a report by Daily Post states that the terrorists stormed the town, just 30 kilometres away from Damaturu, the state capital, in a convoy of vans and motorcycles.

Policemen Storms National Stadium- Proposed Site Of The Planned Protest

There are reports that armed policemen have been deployed to the National Stadium which is the venue of the planned protest against the government.
The protest was earlier championed by popular singer, Innocent Idibia, and was supposed to take place in Lagos and Abuja on Monday, February 6 but on Saturday, February 4; he released a video saying he was cancelling the protest due to security concern.
In spite of the cancellation, some Nigerians vowed to continue with the protest but according to a video shared by Sahara Reporters, security operatives were seen around the stadium even though the protest has not started yet.
