On Tuesday, October 13, the Senate screened 10 nominees: Udoma Udo Udoma (Cross River state), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti state), Audu Ogbeh (Bayelsa state), Ogbonnaya Onu (Ebonyi state), Osagie Ehanire (Edo state), Abdulrahman Dambazau (Kano state), Lai Mohammed (Kwara state), Amina J Mohammed (Gombe state), Suleiman Adamu (Jigawa state) and Ibrahim Jibril (Nasarawa state).
Prominent names expected to be screened today include: Rotimi Amaechi, Aisha Alhassan, Chris Ngige, Hadi Sirika, Babatunde Fashola, Kemi Adeosun, Abubakar Malami, Barrister Adebayo Shittu, Solomon Dalong, Ibe Kachikwu.
However, before the Screening process began, the Senate President read a message from the President Muhammadu Buhari withdrawing the name of immediate past Deputy Governor of Niger State, Ahmed Musa Ibeto from the list of nominees to be screened today. Details for his withdrawal is yet to be known
The screening process began with the ex Governor of Lagos State Babatunde Fashola.
It would interest you to know that some Nominees like Senator Chris Ngige, Senator AlHassan, Senator Sirika and some others were not interrogated by the Senate rather they made few comments and were later permitted and allowed to leave without questions. Was is it because of their influence or because they were once Senators?
Never the less, the Senates have approved and confirmed 18 of the nominees. Read below so as to be updated on how the screening was conducted with every detail.
17:04: Bukola Saraki reads the names of all nominees for confirmation and the House approves the confirmation of all 18 nominees that were screened. 17:02: The Senate approves the adjournment of the screening to tomorrow, October 14. Barrister Adebayo Shittu and Rotimi Amaechu will be screened tomorrow.
17:00: After answering just one question from Senate President Bukola Saraki, Sirika is told to bow and go.

11:12: Senators approves yesterday’s proceedings and accepts the outcome of the screening exercise.
11:05: Dino Melaye, the spokesman of the upper chamber and the chairman of the Senate adhoc committee on publicity says: “The Senate has taken corrections from yesterday and used the general public as a parameter for judging ourselves. What happened yesterday is confirmation screening, after that confirmation will come and it will be holistic. We are going to consider everyone together at the same time. We are not going to confirm in batches.”
