President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya has declared Thursday November 26, 2015 a public holiday and a national day of prayer and reflection for the Pope’s visit.

Pope Francis is scheduled to arrive in Nairobi on Wednesday 5 p.m in his first tour to Africa. From November 25 – 30, the Pope will be visiting Kenya, Uganda and Central African Republic where he is expected to deliver messages touching on sectarian violence, the environment and poverty.

The Pope is expected to celebrate Mass on Thursday, a massive crowd is expected to flock the event, and that will be the Pope’s busiest day during the tour. He is expected to hold an inter-religious meeting in the morning, and then proceeds to celebrate a public mass at the University of Nairobi grounds.
In Nairobi, businesses are expected to be on lockdown on Thursday as more than thousands of Kenyans turn up for the Papal Mass. Those who will not get space at the venue will get the chance to follow the Mass via projector screens that will be set up at Uhuru Park.
