The special assistant to the former national security adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd), Nicholas Ashinze has sued the EFCC over his prolonged detention.
Ashinze, an army colonel is being investigated in connection with the $2.1 billion arms deal saga popularly referred to as DasukiGate.
Although Ashinze is currently being held in an army facility, he was under detention at the EFCC for eight weeks.
Ashinze’s suit is contending the army’s four weeks detention and eight weeks at the EFCC.
His counsel Mike Ozekhome could not speak to Naij.com on the matter as at press time.
In a related development, former Aide De Camp to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan. Colonel Ojogbane Adegbe recently sued the EFCC, seeking N100 million as damages for unlawful detention.
Meanwhile, Justice Yusuf Halilu of the Federal High Court, Abuja today, March 1, ordered the EFCC to release Colonel Adegbe on bail.
