In what was said to be a race to head of the PDP between former governor of Borno State, Nuhu Ribadu and Senator Ali Modu Sherrif, the National Caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party may soon appoint the later as the next party Chairman.

Members of the Board of Trustees of the party are currently holding a meeting in Abuja to discuss whether to accent the former governor to lead the party.
PDP governors were said to be in attendance.
Reports reaching us suggests that Sheriff was chosen because of his experience, wealth and popularity.
