President Muhammadu Buhari has officially resumed work after returning from his short vacation.
The president, who landed in Abuja yesterday after the break in London, has reportedly written a letter to the National Assembly over his resumption.
According to Buhari’s special assistant on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, the letter written to the National Assembly is in compliance with Nigeria’s Constitution.
He wrote: “President Muhammadu Buhari has resumed work in Abuja after a short vacation.
“In compliance with Section 145 (1) of the Nigerian Constitution, President Buhari has dispatched a formal notice of his resumption of duty with effect from Thursday, February 11, 2016, to the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
“It would be recalled that President Buhari was on vacation from February 5 to February 10, 2016.”
Earlier today, the president, in his first duty, welcomed the president of Germany, Joachim Gauck in state house.
