Buhari had, after attending the Supporting Syria conference and a meeting with Nigerians in London, sent a letter to the National Assembly, informing it of his vacation.
In the letter, according to presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, the Nigerian leader said Vice President Yemi Osinbajo would stand in for him in accordance with Section 145 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).

The president did not, meanwhile, name the reason for his vacation, which caused the speculations that he used the opportunity to see his doctors.

However, the presidential spokesman has since denied the reports that Buhari is sick, stating that he took the break just to rest, having worked for eight months non-stop.
While in London, the president stayed at an apartment in the Knightsbridge area of the city, but reportedly sent his aides back to Nigeria.
President Buhari may resume his foreign trips on February 24 as he plans to visit Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Qatar
